Carl Earl “C.E.” Smith, a resident of Dothan, passed away on October 30, 2020 at a local hospital. He was 85 years old.


Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.


C.E. was born on December 20, 1934 to Abner and Ida Smith in Houston County where he was a graduate of Ashford High School. C.E. was employed with GTE phone company and worked as a technician for over 40 years before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family on the lake.


CE is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret Smith; his two sons and four daughters; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
