KINSEY. . .Carl Francis Cotton, a resident of McArdle Road, Kinsey, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at his home. He was 73.



            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in the Kinsey Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.



            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Baptist Church Building Fund, 6745 Walden Drive, Kinsey, AL. 36303.



            Mr. Cotton was a native of Winter Garden, Florida but was reared in Samson and Florala. He lived many years in Florala before moving to Kinsey in 1976. Mr. Cotton was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church. He was retired as a carpenter at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, near Columbia. Mr. Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend D. L. Cotton and Emma Lee Davis Cotton, a sister, Inez Holmes and two brothers, Eulan Cotton and Roland Cotton.



            Surviving relatives include his wife of thirty-six years, Marie Mitchell Cotton, Kinsey; two daughters, Sharon Cook and husband, Jerry, Dothan; Elicia Deese and husband, David, Headland; a son, David Cotton; two grandchildren, Christian Cook and Carlysle Cook; two sisters, Evelyn Mowrey, Ashford and Dorothy Manning and husband, Theron, Dothan; a sister in law, Aline Cotton, Dothan; mother in law, Mabel Mitchell, Dothan; the special extended family of Arthur and Opal Maraman.



            The family would like to express their appreciation to caregiver, Edna Whatley, and Covenant Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mr. Cotton during his illness.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be Kenneth Kinman, Jason Cherry, Jeff Arnold, Scott Ellenburg, Everett Mathis, Jason Reneau and T Turner. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the John Ellenburg Sunday School Class.
