Carl Rowland Nichols of Geneva passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Wiregrass Medical Center. He was 82 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Hartford Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Les Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Community Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Nichols was born on October 26, 1936 in Opp, AL to the late Lewie and Lula Brown Nichols. Mr. Nichols enjoyed flying airplanes and was considered a very experienced aviator.  He also enjoyed telling jokes to family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Gale Nichols; and one sister Ann Hoffe.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret A. Nichols of Geneva; one daughter, Wendy Nichols of Edgecomb, ME; two sons, Roy Nichols of Dothan, and Russell Nichols of Duluth, GA; two granddaughters, Meghan Nichols of McDonough, GA, and Kenzie Gale Nichols of Dothan, AL; three sisters, Grace Tew of Tarpon Springs, FL, Willene Munstertieger (Chuck) of Boerne, TX, and Jane Brunson (Doug) of Mesa, AZ; and many special nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
