Mr. Carlton David Lewis of Lewis Leavins Drive, Bonifay, Florida passed away Friday, August 7, 2015.  He was 76.


Military graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Harry Collins officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at which time they will depart for the graveside.


Carlton was born February 15, 1939, in Holmes County, Florida to the late John Thomas and Delilah Leavins Lewis.  He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force and an electrician by trade.  He always strived to keep his family unified.  He had a very giving heart and was always ready to help those in need.  He faithfully supported various charities that he believed in.  Carlton loved animals and enjoyed going to auctions.


In addition to his parents, two sisters: Mildred Darley and Viola Lewis, as well as two brothers: Columbus Lewis and John Chester Lewis preceded him in death.


Survivors include four daughters: Lorrie Hohl and husband David of East Moline, IL, Teotta Shepherd of Alvin, TX, Lawanna Lewis of East Moline, IL and Mia Gregory of Gainesville, FL; one son, Glenn David Lewis of Monks Corner, SC; one brother, Curtis Oliver Lewis; two sisters: Catherine Leavins and Mary Ellen Lewis, all of Bonifay; 10 grandchildren; several special great-grandchildren; a number of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.
