DOTHAN. . .Carol Parker Thompson, a resident of Dothan, died early Friday evening, February 2, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was70.

            A memorial visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel.

            Carol Thompson was born and reared in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Guy Allen Sampley and Margaret Maddox Sampley. Carol was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and attended Wallace Community College in Dothan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hayward Thompson, a daughter, Shannon Thompson and a sister, Brenda Bates.

            Surviving relatives include her granddaughters, Brieana Farmer and Mary Elizabeth Farmer; a sister, Mary Ann Cleghorn, Wetumpka, AL; and two brothers, Mike Parker (Mae), Prattville; and Allen Sampley, Wetumpka, AL; numerous nieces and nephews.
