Carolyn Janiece “Jan” Woods Gray, age 82, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.

Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, PO Box 1170, Dothan, Alabama 36302.

Mrs. Gray was born December 26, 1939 in Slocomb, Alabama to Hubert and Blanche Bedsole Woods and lived the early years of her life there. After her marriage she became a loving and devoted military wife during her husband’s twenty-year military career. Mrs. Gray was a member of Malvern Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rupert Douglas Gray, three brothers, Hubert Woods, Jr., Thomas Edward Woods and Jimmy Max Woods.

Survivors include a son, Gary Gray (Leigh Anne) of Wiggins, MS; a daughter, Sonja Stover (David) of Georgetown, TX; five grandchildren, Weston Stover, Kyle Stover, Jason Gray, Matthew Gray, Shelby Seal; four great-grandchildren, Jake Seal, Collin Seal, Wyatt Gray and Olivia Stover; a sister, Betty Sue Rash (Bobby) of Slocomb; several nieces and nephews also survive.
