Catia (Kathy) Ann Hvarven, 69, of Black received her ultimate reward when she went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2020. Catia was born in Hartford, Alabama on August 2, 1951 to the late Doyle and Lillie Hatfield.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 outside of New Canaan Ministries in Hartford, Alabama with Pastor Peggy Stewart officiating and under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time. The service will be broadcast on the radio, channel 90.3, for friends and family that would like to attend from their vehicle. A private burial will follow in the Black Community Cemetery with husband and children.


On April 10, 1968 she married her first love, the late Jeffery Hugh Bradley. She was a devoted housewife and mother to her 3 children. After 25 blessed years of marriage to Hugh, she suffered a loss that left her incomplete until she met the second love of her life, her current husband, Robert Hvarven where they have lived a wonderful life together for 26 years.


Catia was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, and friend to many. She worked in the school system for many years as a librarian at Geneva County and retired as a bus driver at Geneva City. Catia was currently employed by Friend Bank. She also worked alongside her husband Reverend Robert (Bob) Hvarven at New Canaan Ministries in Hartford. Catia lived a life that displayed her zeal and love for the Lord. Those that knew her will forever cherish the example she set in her walk with God. She loved with her whole heart, put 100 percent into each relationship she invested her life into, and left an impact on everyone that crossed her path. Catia was a fun loving, outgoing, sports enthusiast, Harley riding grandmother. Granny delighted in fishing, shopping, attending ballgames, and playing cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


What a joyous reunion was had on Friday when Catia was reunited with her loved ones that preceded her in death. This includes her parents, Doyle and Lillie Hatfield; husband, Hugh Bradley; daughter, Becky Kinman; grandson, Cooper Hvarven; brothers, David Hatfield, Tommie Hatfield, and Gary Mike Hatfield.


Survivors include: her husband, Bob Hvarven; children, Laura (Randall) Kinman, Greg (Lynn) Bradley; son-in-law, Danny Kinman; stepdaughter, Renee (Doyce) Blount; stepson, Bobby Hvarven; grandchildren, Kacia Killingsworth, Bradley (Allie) Kinman, Hughston Kinman, Peyton Bradley, Zoey Bradley, Jake Holley, Libby Hvarven, Ryleigh Hvarven, Hayden Hvarven, Dakota Blount, and Ashton Blount; great grandchildren, Leelan, Brayley, and Libby Sue; brothers, Teddy (Sharon) Hatfield, Doyle (Lynne) Hatfield, Kenny (Maelynn) Hatfield, Jeff (Corrine) Hatfield; sisters, Louise (Larry) Sheffield, Sarah (Jim) Schmittendorf, Gail Meadows, Martha (Gary) Vickers, Sandra Moody; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Hatfield McDaniel and Grace Hatfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


The family ask that those in attendance follow all social distancing guidelines.
