Cecilia “Wayne” Morgan Brunson

Cecilia “Wayne” Morgan Brunson, a resident of Pinckard, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was 61.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Ross, Rev. Bill Mansfield, and Rev. James Aubrey Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 5-7 pm.

Mrs. Brunson was born to Cecil Wayne and Rita Morgan on November 19, 1957 in Brewton, Alabama. She would reside there the early years of her life and was a 1976 graduate of T. R. Miller High School. Mrs. Brunson would reside in Pensacola, FL where she worked with Herring Realty, before moving to Dothan in 1986. Being a very opinionated, determined, and strong-willed woman, Mrs. Brunson was not someone you would forget, if you met her. She loved her family and was passionate about spending time with them and cooking for them, she made the best potato salad and chicken and dumplings. Cooking was her love language. She loved playing games such as Monopoly and UNO with her grandchildren. Mrs. Brunson was a Data Analyst at Ft. Rucker and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Foyel D. Brunson, Pinckard; her mother, Rita Morgan of Pensacola, FL; her daughters, Pamela (Toby) Bowman, Dothan, Kelly (Mike) Johnson, Dothan, Talithia (Jack) Ison, Naples, FL; her son, Jason (Miwa) Brunson, Chesapeake, VA; her nine grandchildren, Taylor (Kaitlin), Joshua, Benjamin, Jack, Jodi, Sarah, Jacob, Parker, and Jordan; her two-great-grandchildren, Tessa and Barrett; her two sisters, Twinette McDonald and Annette Wilson; several nieces and nephews; her two much-loved fur babies, Duke and Duchess.
