Chalmers Earl Cureton was the firstborn child of Chalmers Carmichael Cureton and Edna Boatwright Cureton. Born on June 26, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas. He died in Dothan, Alabama, on January 15, 2023.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Russ, Bobby, and Johnny, and one sister Willie Mae. His first wife Dorothy, and his second wife Sandra.

He is survived by one brother James Kyle Cureton of Naples Florida. Sisters, Virginia of Pensacola, Florida, and Ann, Mary, Rose, and Janis of Dothan Alabama.

Earl was a graduate of Dothan High School and Auburn University where he obtained his prelaw and business degrees. His business acumen was top-of-the-line, and it served him well during his career in the insurance business. In later life, he managed an adult care facility in Panama City Florida.

Earl had resided in Panama City Florida for several years but relocated to Dothan Alabama in 2018 after hurricane Michael damaged their home in Panama City, Florida.  Earl and Sandra resided with his sister Mary in Dothan, Alabama until Sandra died in December of 2018. Earl remained living with Mary. She became his primary caregiver when his health began to decline due to Parkinsons.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Southern Care Hospice with a special thanks to Lakisha, Caneisha, and Donna for their excellence in caring for Mr. Earl.

A graveside memorial service is planned for a later date.
