Charles Edsel Gibson, age 78, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, January 23, 2021 at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 P.M. The family requests that social distancing be observed during visitation and funeral service.

Edsel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a route salesman in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends deeply.

Edsel was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mattie Pearl Gibson and a brother, Edward Gibson.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Dykes Gibson, Enterprise, AL; his sons, Tim (Kim) Gibson, Enterprise, AL; Todd (Kim) Gibson, Enterprise, AL; Tom (Lori) Gibson, Wetumpka, AL; grandchildren, Zack (Mary Thomas) Gibson; Hali (Nick) Quincey; Leah (Nate) Calhoun; TJ Gibson; Garrett (Kristianna) Gibson; Ashley (John) Whatley; great-grandchildren, Avery, Zane and Kate Quincey; Everett Calhoun; sisters, Margaret (Louis) Strength, Enterprise, AL; Syble Strength, Enterprise, AL; Elaine (Dykes) Clark, Opp, AL; Teresa (Gary) Deal, Enterprise, AL; brothers, Jerry (Betty) Gibson, Enterprise, AL; Danny (Debra) Gibson, Enterprise, AL.
