OZARK…. Mr. Charles Ellis (Charlie) Spivey, a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, November 3, 2020 in Dale Medical Center. He was 53.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2020 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Kirby and Reverend Michael Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, AL 36360.


            Charlie was born November 13, 1966 in Brundidge, Alabama and moved to Ozark in 1999. He attended Vivian B. Adams School in Ozark and was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. Charlie received his early Boy Scout training from Troop #126,  was an active Eagle Scout and was Assistant Scout Master for Troop #20. He was the unofficial recruiter for Boy Scouts and Wood Badge trained. Charlie enjoyed riding horses, canoeing, fishing, and repelling. Charlie enjoyed attending Boy Scout camping events all over the area including Camp ALAFLO, near Enterprise. His motto was, “If I can do it, You can do it”. Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Floyd Spivey.


            Surviving relatives include his loving mother, Hazel Taylor Spivey, Ozark; sister, Glenda Spivey, Montgomery; special friend and caretaker, Andy Lewis, Ozark.
