ABBEVILLE. . .Charles Harold “Charlie” Johnson, a resident of Abbeville, died Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 80.

There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Opp, Alabama in Covington County, son of the late Clinton Johnson and Ruby Edgar Johnson. He lived in Mossy Head, Florida before moving to the Screamer Community, near Thomas Mill Creek in Henry County, over twenty years ago. He was retired as the owner and operator of Johnson’s Floor Covering. Mr. Johnson was prececed in death by a son, James Johnson, a sister, Shirley Thome and two brothers, Bobby Joe Johnson and Winfred Johnson.

Surviving relatives include his wife of forty years, Bonnie Lingo Johnson, a daughter, Teresa Burtner (Dave), of Florida; two sons, David Johnson (Jim Hines), of Florida; and Terry Volf (Laura), Moultrie, GA; a sister, Martha Crabtree, and a brother, Jimmy Johnson, both of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
