Charles William Summerlin, II., a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday night, December 31, 2022, at his home. He was 61.


Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Winslette Chapel Church, 396 South County Road 9, Newton, AL 36352.


Mr. Charlie Summerlin was born March 24, 1961, in Geneva, Alabama, to Joyce Howell Smith and the late Charles William Summerlin, Sr. He attended and graduated from Dothan High School. After high school, he obtained an electrical / electronics degree from Wallace Community College. He lived in Dothan for several years prior to moving to Headland, where he has resided for the last thirty-five years. He enjoyed skydiving and was a certified Jump Master. He was employed at Fort Rucker as a Master Parachute Rigger. He was most recently employed with Herndon Electric, Inc..


In addition to his father, Mr. Summerlin is preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Jo Summerlin Linder, and Lisa Elizabeth Summerlin Mackrill.


Leaving to cherish his memories are his mother, Joyce Howell Smith of Dothan; his aunts, Lavaughn Howell Jordan and Elizabeth Howell Stewart; his uncle Reverend Archie Duwain Howell (Brigitte); nephew Christopher G. Linder (Angie), and children, Chloe, Austin, Calvin, Aarin, Caden, and Aiden Linder; several nieces; several cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
