DOTHAN, ALABAMA . .Charlotte Dinant Hughes, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died early Monday afternoon, January 2, 2023, at the home of a daughter, Jennifer Culver, in Headland, Alabama. She was 80.

Funeral services were held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, PA. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations was in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Hughes was born and reared in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Raymond Dinant and Alice DeAngelo Dinant. She moved to Dothan in 1986 where she was a member of the Cloverdale Methodist Church. Mrs. Hughes was retired from General Cigar Company as a Supervisor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hughes, a daughter, Stacy Delfosse, and a granddaughter, Wynter Bella Caesar.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Cindy Newberry (Allen), Altoona, PA; and Jennifer Culver (Marvin), Headland, AL; two sons, Richard Hughes (Debra), Pembroke, GA; and Gregory Hughes (Karen), Philipsburg, PA; a sister, Susan Bainey, West Decatur, PA; two brothers, Gary Dinant (Lisa), Philipsburg, PA; and James Dinant, West Decatur, PA; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
