Chester Wayne Griffin of Geneva, AL passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Crooms and Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Highfalls Assembly of God Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Griffin was born in Geneva County, AL on July 5, 1944 to the late Hiram Clifton and Eunice Allen Griffin. Chester enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors “piddling” in his yard and garden. He was a loving family man who lived for Jesus. Chester loved his wife of almost 57 years, Ruth with all his heart and his grand boys were his pride and joy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harrell Griffin, and one sister, Lorene Holland.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Ruth Smith Griffin of Geneva, AL; two sons, Tim Griffin (Nell) of Geneva, AL, and Greg Griffin (Lisa) of Forney, TX; three grandsons, Cade, Jackson, and Graye Griffin all of Forney, TX; one sister, Louise Howard (Ron) of Chipley, FL, and one brother, James Griffin of Geneva, AL; and many special nieces and nephews.
