MIDLAND CITY…Christine Hanks Williams, a resident of Midland City, passed away Friday morning, May 31, 2019, in Signature HealthCARE of North Florida in Graceville, Florida. She was 83.


     Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 1, 2019, in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Kuhn and Reverend Benny Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2797 County Road 14, Midland City, AL 36350.


     Mrs. Christine Hanks Williams was born and reared in Newton, Alabama, daughter of the late Levy Shellie Hanks and Callie Rebecca Senn Hanks. She was a 1955 graduate of Newton High School. Mrs. Williams lived in Midland City most of her adult lifetime and was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Couch, Inc. for several years as a secretary. Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Jerome Williams, a sister, Dorothy Hanks Herring, and a brother, Harvey Hanks.


     Surviving relatives include a sister, Ida Harris (Richard), and a brother, Shellie Hanks (Anita), all of Newton; several nieces and nephews.
