Christy Lynn Simmons of Samson, Alabama passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014.  She was 38.

 

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in the Samson First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Totten and Rev. Scotty Troublefield officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. and continue until service time.

 

Christy was born August 21, 1975, in Opp, Alabama.  Her greatest joy in life was her two sons, Ethan and Grant.  She was a graduate of Samson High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Samson.

 

Her grandparents, John and Patsy Howell, preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her husband, Chris Simmons; two sons: Ethan Ellis Simmons and Matthew Grant Simmons; mother and father, Clarence and Janet Maloy and Eddie Kennington; grandparents, Roy and Annie Mae Kennington, all of Samson; mother and father-in-law, Jimmy and Ann Simmons, Geneva; other extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Wright, Dawson Reid, Tripp Davis, Trey Powell, Wade Walters and Hector Ramirez.
