Mr. Clarence Earl Ward of Goose Hollow Road, Geneva, Alabama passed away Monday, July 30, 2012.  He was 65.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gene Hauser officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 and continue until service time.

 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 787, Geneva, AL 36340, The American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.

 

Mr. Ward was born April 30, 1947, in Geneva County to the late William Edward and Raven Simpkins Ward.  He served four years in the U. S. Air Force.  From 1974 until 1976 he served as acting Geneva County Clerk of Circuit Court and was officially elected to this office and served from 1977 until 1982.  Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and Alabama football.  He was a Bama “Roll Tide” fan all the way.  He was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to his parents two brothers, Johnny Edward and William Ray Ward, a sister, Erma Lavelle Ward, as well as a nephew-in-law, Gary Sowell, all preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Tim Patterson, Crestview, FL; one son, David Earl Ward, Navarre, FL; companion, Brenda Didorek, Enterprise;  special friend and mother of his children, Kaye Miller Cain, Navarre, FL; four grandchildren: Kalyn Sawyer, Payton Patterson, Bladen Ward and Kady Patterson; one brother, Edward Ward, (Rosalyn), Geneva; several nieces and nephews: Beverly Sowell, Geneva, Jeff Ward (Regina), Amy Davis (Marty), all of Dothan, Tim Ward, Ozark, Michael Ward (Sarah), Charlotte, NC; several special great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family and friends.
