ABBEVILLE. . .Clarice Brady Barron, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday night, July 9, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 99.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 11, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Mrs. Barron was born and reared in Henry County, daughter of the late Emmitt Polk Brady and Katie Williams Brady. She was a lifelong resident of Abbeville. Mrs. Barron retired as Head Dietician from Abbeville High School and had also been employed at the Abbeville Elementary School lunchroom. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville where she kept the nursery for thirty years. Mrs. Barron loved flowers, cooking, and her favorite was chocolate cake and chicken and dressing. She was always caring for others. Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by a son, Charles Robert Barron, a grandson, Tony Barron, a son-in-law, Larry Cotton, sisters, Zora Presley, Bess Magee, Oberia Bowden and Thelma Wilkerson, and brothers, Maxwell Brady, Ernest Brady, Lloyd Brady, Morgan Brady, Charles Brady, Robert Brady, John Brady and Jack Brady.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Linda Cotton Seay (John), Slocomb; Kathy Beaty (Danny), Abbeville; and Nancy Spivey (Donny), Blue Springs; two sons, Harold Barron (Wendy), Slocomb; and Sammy Barron (Melanie), Shorterville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren; a favorite friend, Janie Sue Murphy and two special nieces, Betty Brady and Penny Thompson and numerous other nieces and nephews.
