Jerry Cleveland “Cleve” Creel, known as “Papa C” by his 10 grandchildren, entered into the gates of heaven, Monday, September 6, 2021.  He was 62.


Cleve was born August 30, 1959 in Dothan. He as a 1978 graduate of Dothan High School where he loved playing football for the tigers. Cleve loved the social aspect of high school where he participated in many clubs. After high school he attended Troy State University where he studied business. In 1989, he became the founder and CEO of Creel Paper Supply during which time he was a member of several organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He went on to pursue a career in land development and real estate. In 2019 he became the owner and broker of Whatley and Associates CMG Real Estate; he was quick to become a successful member of the real estate community in Dothan. Cleve was member of First United Methodist Church and his pride and joy were his family and Alabama football.


He was predeceased by his parents Jerry Jerome Creel and Martha Lou Reeves Creel and an infant brother, Mark Creel.


Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Sally Farmer Creel of Dothan; his children, Jason Creel (Amanda) of Slocomb, Adrian Flowers (Tate) of Headland, Katie Trundt (Stephen) of Birmingham and Trent Lester (Deanna) of Slocomb; his ten grandchildren: Mary Grace, Alice and Preston Creel, Lily and Dax Flowers, Ella Kate, Addison and Abagail Trundt and Whit and Gray Lester; a sister, Debbie Tidwell (Phillip) of Dothan; a brother, Steve Creel (Kimm) of Dothan; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim Farmer (Angelisa) of Franklin, Tennessee and Fran Farmer of Atlanta, Georgia; a very special aunt and uncle, Jerry and Patti Reeves along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Mark Dunning, Ronnie Driskell, Paul Hufham, Lawton Ed Armstrong, John Armstrong and Bob Negley.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the services. A private burial will be held at Hartford City Cemetery.
