Mr. Clifford Allen Alford of Samson, Alabama passed away January 22, 2023 at his home. He was 82.

A graveside funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Reese Baptist Church Cemetery with the Navy Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Mr. Alford was born in Geneva Co., AL on January 3, 1941 to the late Welton Clarence and Grace Rebecca Marlow Alford. Clifford was a veteran of the US Navy, having faithfully served his country for 2 tours during the Vietnam War.  He retired after 21 years of service. He worked at Ft. Rucker as an Avionics Technician for many years prior to retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He was a die-hard “Alabama Crimson Tide” fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Janice J. Alford; one son, Welton Clifford Alford and one sister, Janice Alford Helms.

Clifford is survived by one son, Eric Alford; one grandson, Zack Alford (Abby) and one great-granddaughter, Holly Katherine Alford, all of Samson, AL.
