Climmie Merle Ash, 86, of Dothan passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at a local hospital.


Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am at the funeral home.


Ms. Ash was born March 14, 1925 in Dale County and lived the early part of her life in Pinckard and moved to Dothan in the early 1950's. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater St. Paul Church in Pinckard and attended Peace Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Samuel Ash, brothers, John Henry Ash, Ned Otis Ash, and Bill Ash, and sisters, Mollie Tendle, Lucille Tendle, and Amanda Harris.


Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Ash, Eddie Ash, and Ray Ash all of Dothan; a daughter Shirley Ash of Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Marco Pearson, Charles Ash, Brook Ash, and Brandi Ash; 3 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Ash, Alexandria Butler, and Terrence Williams; a brother Cleotis Ash of New York; sisters, Minnie Pearl Ash of Dothan, Ora Ash of Panama City, FL, and Ella Grayson of Dothan; a special sister-in-law Helen Ash of Midland City.
