Colin McKee

Colin McKee, a resident of Dothan, passed away late Saturday evening, May 30, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness, surrounded by his family.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11am Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Dothan Country Fellowship (Cross Creek Junction) with Pastor Fred Bacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory. A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday evening, June 5, 2020 at the funeral home, from 5pm until 7pm.

Born March 13, 1957 in St. Paul, MN to the late C.R. and Lois McKee, Colin as an Air Force brat and traveled many parts of the country as a child. In 1975 the family chose Alabama as their home and have remained here ever since arriving. Colin was a musician all his life. He played bass guitar for many different bands, to include, the Ghost Riders, Silver Streak and Desperado. For the past 10 years he played at Cross Creek Junction and loved every minute of it. Colin was a member of Dothan Country Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, Colin was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Howard McDaniel. Survivors include his wife, Leila Payne McKee of Dothan; two brothers, Jimmy McKee and Mike McKee, both of Dothan; a sister, Barbara McKee of Alford, FL; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brandy McKee of Dothan and Misty Williams (Michael) of Eufaula; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jason McKee (Kami) of Chelsea, John Spencer (Stacie) of Uriah and Devin McDaniel (Danielle) of Eufaula. Thirteen grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
