Cressie Carol Burch Kornegay Johnson of Dothan went home with her loving family by her side Saturday, December 10, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, December 12, 2011. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rockbridge Rd. Dothan, AL 36303.
Carol was a member of Jakin Baptist Church in Jakin, GA. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved to minister to other people. She loved her Lord and working in her yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Z.B. Burch and Tessie Robinson Burch, her first husband, M.L. Kornegay of 47 years, sisters, Vadas Evelyn Ayers, Bonnie Mae Ayers, Ava Beatrice McDuffie, Eris Ellen Wall, Marie Burch, brothers, James Robert Burch, Albert Mose Burch, Billy Breckenridge Burch, and Gene Daphne Burch.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Johnson of Dothan; daughters, Joy Beaver and her husband, Rodney of Dothan; Lisa Morris and her husband, Carlisle of Dothan; sons, Michael Kornegay and his wife, Trisha of Dothan; Glenn Kornegay and his wife, Suanne of Fairhope, AL; Craig Kornegay and his wife, Karen of Dothan; step-son, Gaiuf Johnson and his wife, Elaine of Birmingham, AL; sister, Jackie Helen Yeoman of Harford; grandchildren, Amy Thompson (Stephen), Allison Ard (Pat), Beau Park (Jaime), Breckenridge Kornegay, Rachel Kornegay, Michael Morris, Chase Kornegay, Carson Kornegay, great-grandchildren, Madie Ard, Emma Ard, Jake Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.
