Dale Anthony Papotnik, age 70 of Dothan, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in a local hospital.


A memorial service will be held at 11am Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Reverend Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. An internment service, with military honors, will be held at a later time in his home state of Pennsylvania.


Dale was born March 9, 1949 in Pennsylvania to the late Anthony (Tony) and Wilma Geer Papotnik. He bravely served his country first in the U.S. Navy and then later retired as a Coast Guard Reservist. Dale moved to the Wiregrass area in 1989, where he lived for the remainder of his life. In Dothan, Dale worked as a purchasing agent for G.E. and retired after an almost 40-year career. In his spare time, he enjoyed antique cars and in addition to owning several himself, he was a member of the Wiregrass Antique Car Collectors club. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3073, Dothan.


Dale is survived by his wife, Rene? Lackovic of Dothan; two stepdaughters, Julia (Joshua) Dallas and Kim (Mark) Samuels. Also, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda (Rick) Kusiak, Rita (Russ) Eastman and Christine Papotnik survive Dale.
