 Daniel Z. Mathis, age 59, a resident of Marianna, Florida, formerly of Avon, Alabama, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at Southeast Health.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Friday, March 31, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stuart Smith officiating and Glover Funeral home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Daniel was born August 31, 1963 in Henry County to the late Delma Cecil and Margaret Hughes Mathis. He spent his early years in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia and has worked as an equipment operator with Houston County Road and Bridge for over 17 years. He enjoyed singing, going to races, fishing and collecting knives and model cars. He was a member of Victory Family Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Wanda C. Mathis, five brothers, Cecil, Paul, Glen, Samuel, and Charles Mathis, one grandchild, Branden Chancey, two special nephews, Eddie and Jimbob White.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Mathis, of Marianna, Florida; three daughters, Miriam Ramirez of Marianna, Florida, Wendy Chancey of Arkansas, Christin Graham of Dothan, Alabama; a sister, Wannah Martin of Ashford, Alabama; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
