Danley “Danny” Powell, a resident of Bonifay, FL passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his residence. He was 69.
Danny was born on August 20, 1952 in Dothan, AL to Walter Willard Powell and Billie Sue McDougald Powell. He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School and Chipola Junior College. Danny was employed with the City of Dothan as a firefighter and retired as a Sergeant after twenty years of service. He was also employed with the Houston County Road and Bridge Department. Danny served as a member of the Houston County Sheriffs Department Auxiliary and also, served in the Air National Guard. He was a member of Pilgrims Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Brandi Susan Powell DeVore and Rebecca Brooke Powell; his grandchildren, Blake Martin Moore and Faith Mary Kamp; his brother, Walter W. Powell, Jr,; his nieces, Jennifer P. Coleman and Melanie Powell; the mother of his children, Becki Pybus Powell Martin; and other extended family members.
The family would like to extend a deep thanks to Joyce and D.L. White and their family for opening their home and providing wonderful care for Mr. Powell. We are forever grateful.
