Danny Bateman

Danny Bateman, a resident of Ozark, Alabama passed away on June 30, 2021. He was 66 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Albert Daum, III officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am.

Mr. Bateman was born on April 7, 1955 in Columbus, Georgia and was a 1974 graduate of Graceville High School. He joined the US Army and proudly served for 7 years. Mr. Bateman owned and operated his sign shop for several years and was the general manager with Gilland Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep. He enjoyed drag racing and won several trophies. Mr. Bateman was a member of The American Legion and VFW.

Mr. Bateman was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bateman, his grandfather, Chamlous Roland, his grandmother, Essie Roland Strickland, his aunt, Eloise Roland Altman, his uncles, J. L. Roland and Gerald Roland, his cousins, Marie Hamm Baxley and Jeffery Roland, and his daughter-in-law, Gina Sullivan, his mother-in-law, Dorothy Daum, his father-in-law, Charles Albert Daum II, his great uncle, Forrest Hale, his brother-in-law, Mars Victor Daum, and his brother-in-law, Rex Daum.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Amber Leigh Daum Bateman; his 4 children, Chad Nolan, April Jan Warner (Ian Cork), Daniel, and Charles Jarrett (Tiffany); his mother, Dorothy, his sister, Donna Bowen (Von), his brother, Dale (Eunjun), his 13 grandchildren, Jason, Ann-Elise, Justin, Carter Cork, Kathryn, Phillip, Tofi, Miyaki, Danielle Christman, Lillian, Celeste, Regina, and Bristol and one great grandson; his aunts Blondell Hale and Helen Hutchinson (Joe), his uncles Doyle Roland and Wallace Roland, his niece Belinda Jordan (Jeffrey Jenkins), his nephew Derek Bowen (Patricia Baggett), his great nieces Haley Jordan and Hannah Trawick (Mitchell), his great nephew Hunter Bowen, and his great-great nephew Tennessee Trawick, his brothers-in-law Targus Daum (Anna), Charles Albert Daum III (Vicky), Cole Daum (Theresa), Guy Daum (LaLa), his sisters-in-law Jacqui Garrett (John), Charla Thermenos (Victor), Kathy Daum, Tanna Youngblood, Kim Caravella (Dominic) and Micky Daum, and many more extended family that loved him.
