Darlene Albritton Shock

Darlene Shock, age 51 of Dothan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:oo p.m. at Shady Grove CH Church in Pansey, Alabama with Pastor Judy Dyson officiating. 

Darlene was born May 28, 1970 to Donald and Doris Mae Harkless Albritton in Arcadia, Florida. 

Darlene was a loving wife, mother.  She was a member of Shady Grove CHC Church.  She once served as the Women’s Ministry Leader and the Church Secretary.  In the community, Darlene was very passionate about advocating for the acceptance and inclusion of special needs children inspired by her son, Joey. She was a member of the Families For Hope Group. 

She enjoyed traveling with her husband especially on cruises.  Her favorite thing to do was spending quality time with her sons.  She enjoyed cheering Joey on at Miracle League Baseball games.  Joey always looked for her to make sure she was watching.  She also enjoyed being escorted to the movies by Jeffrey on Mother’s Day or any other day that they could slip away, most recently joined by Jeffrey’s wife, Heather.  She loved the idea of having someone she could call Daughter. 

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris Albritton; in-laws Larry & Marsha Shock.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jeffery Shock; sons Jeffrey Lynn Shock, Jr (Heather), Joseph Robert Shock; brother Donald Albritton, Jr (Dawn); sister Dwynn Harrison (John); sister in laws Kimm Shock Wright (Nathan), Joy Shock Brittian (Mike); numerous nieces and nephews along with special bonus children. 

She will be missed by all.
