David “Al” Givens

David “Al” Givens, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at a local hospital. He was 64.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dan Quincy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-3 pm.

Mr. Givens was born on January 3, 1955 in Pensacola, Florida and moved to Dale County, Alabama in 1958 and resided in Echo for most of his life. He was employed with Covington Heavy Duty Parts until becoming disabled in 2010. Mr. Givens was a huge Alabama Fan, Roll Tide!!! He loved to go fishing and camping with his family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking.

Mr. Givens was preceded in death by his parents, Sallie Givens and David Givens, his daughter, Heather Givens Littlefield, his son, Gabe Givens, a special nephew, Jason Ward and by his sister, Lou Givens Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Corine Givens; his brother, Drew (Penny) Givens; his 3 grandchildren, Ashley Givens, Kyler Littlefield, and Nathan Littlefield; and many other loved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
