David Alan Smith, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, following an extended illness. He was 71.

David was born July 29, 1952, in Anniston to the late Willard Agee & Betty Jo Hurston Smith. He spent the early years of his life there until he moved to Dothan in 1960.  David was a 1970 graduate of Dothan High School. Following high school, he attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 1974 with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. He worked at Southeast Health for 37 years up until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a brother, Brian Smith of Dothan; two sisters, Sherry Rountree of Tuscaloosa, and Beth Glass (Leland) of Miami, FL.

Per his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
