DAVID  CLINTON  PRINCE


 


NAPIER FIELD. . .David Clinton Prince, a resident of Napier Field, died early Monday morning, April 9, 2012, at his home. He was 52.



            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 13, 2012 in the Grimes United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Griggs and Reverend Dr. James Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Holman-Headland Mortuary in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at the mortuary and also from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.



            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Grimes United Methodist Church, 440 Parramore Road, Dothan, AL. 36303 or to Hospice Advantage, 3245 Montgomery Hwy, Suite 8, Dothan, AL  36303.



            David Clinton Prince was born in Waco, Texas but was reared in various locations while his father served in the U. S. Air Force. He was employed by the Town of Napier Field. He also served as a high school and college baseball umpire and basketball and volleyball official. David was an avid motor cycle rider and loved Alabama football. He was a member of the Grimes United Methodist Church. David was preceded in death by his father, Charles Middleton Prince, Sr.



            Surviving relatives include his mother, Miriam Pearce Prince, Napier Field; two brothers, Charles M. (Chuck) Prince, Jr. and wife, Charlotte, Sparks, Maryland; and Philip Prince and wife, Debbie, Dothan; a special friend, Carol Keahey, Dothan; a niece, Erin Prince, five nephews, Adam Prince, Charles M. (Chip) Prince, III, Carl M. Prince, Kyle Prince and Justin Prince; a great-niece and two great-nephews; aunts, Margie Lee and husband, Howard, Jean Woodham and husband, Felton, Lillian Raines and Virginia Thompson; an uncle, Richard Pearce and wife, Carol.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be Greg Klanjac, Bill Melton, Scott Harris, Dave Johnson, Steve Glover and Terry Cunningham. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be fellow motorcycle enthusiasts and umpires and officials.
