David Franklin “Frank” Mitchell of Geneva, AL passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his home. He was 79 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial will follow in the Poplar Head Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Frank was born in Geneva, AL on December 14, 1942 to the late David and Essie Vanlandingham Mitchell. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. He was considered a “character” by his family and friends.  He proudly served his Country in the US Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah smith, and one brother, Charles Mitchell.

Frank is survived by one daughter, Donna Mitchell; two sons, Kelly Mitchell and Mike Mitchell; one granddaughter who he helped raise, Brittany Armstrong; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Frances Vann; sister-in-law, Opal Mitchell; his former wife and special friend, Betty Peak.
