Mr. David Lee Turner, age 81, a resident of Skipperville, died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Southeast Health in Dothan.

 

Memorial graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayton with Reverend Mark Brantley officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.

 

Mr. Turner was born January 9, 1940 in Henry County, Alabama the son of Lloyd Needham Turner and Lois Money Turner.  He grew up in the Blue Springs community where he attended school. He was a logger for 50 years with W.R. Turner Logging. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. Mr. Turner was a member of Wesley Chapel Community Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cornelia Dominey Turner; sister, Frances Halley and brother, Frankie Oneal Turner.

 

Survivors include son, David Lee Turner II (Dr. Julie) of Montgomery; two daughters, Reba Turner Currie (Lynn) of Louisville and Rhonda Gail Turner (Errand Hobbs) of Ozark; three brothers, Buck Turner (Helen) of Ozark, Lloyd Turner (Shirley) of Edwin, and Jessie Louis Turner (Stephanie) of Atlanta; four sisters, Maudie Starling of Abbeville, Marie Strevey of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Mary Ann Gachet of Skipperville, and Dorothy Marcum (James) of Worthington, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jason Currie (Carmen) of Jack, Jeremy Currie (Ashley) of Louisville, Dr. Karson Durie (Ian) of Athens, Georgia, David Michael Watson (Lauren) of Ozark, John Ryan Marse of Ozark, Nicholas Brockman of Manassas, Virginia and Robert Mark White of Ozark; five great-grandchildren, John Foster Hamm, Ruger Currie, Case Currie, Logan Underwood and Abigail Watson; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend Mike Riley of Skipperville.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations to Wesley Chapel Community Church- 604 County Road 65 Newville, Alabama 36353.
