SHORTERVILLE. . .David Reynolds Sauls, Sr., a resident of Shorterville, died Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2020, at his home. He was 81.

     There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time.  Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

     David Sauls was born in Dale County and reared in Henry County, son of the late Mercer Young Sauls and Thelma Skinner Sauls. He was a member of the Shorterville Baptist Church. David was retired from the Henry County Road & Bridge Department. In earlier years, he was employed by the Robert Edward Phillips Farms. David was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Sauls and Audie Cummings, and three brothers, William Sauls, James Robert Sauls and Jerry Sauls.

     Surviving relatives include his wife, Mary Mayo Sauls; two daughters, Debra Herring (Larry), Clayton; and Melisha Moates (Vincent), Blue Springs; two sons, David Sauls, Jr. (Tammy), Shorterville; and Robert Sauls (Sheila), Brundidge; a brother, Bobby Sauls, Abbeville; a brother-in-law, Lamar Buxton, and a sister-in-law, Robin Parsons; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
