Dennis P. Harris, 86, of Daleville, AL passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his home.  Mr. Harris was born January 20, 1936 to the late Paul Harris and Ruth Clark.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Daleville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Peters officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00PM until service time.  Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harris served his country for 20 years with the US Army.  He served 2 tours in Vietnam.  His medals and awards included the Combat Infantry Badge, Master Parachute Wings, Senior Aviator Wings, Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal, and Distinguished Pistol Shooter Badge.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Rickey Ingle and Billie Jean Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frances C. Harris, Daleville, AL; daughters, Pam Souders (Alan), Daleville, AL, Karen O’Field (Barney), Daleville, AL; son, Rodney Harris (Terri), Bay St. Louis, MS; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty McRary, Granite Falls, NC; Scottie Whistnant, Hudson, NC; 2 brothers, Mike Harris and Keith Harris both of Granite Falls, NC; an uncle, Jerry Clark (Lois) and numerous other family members; also, numerous honorary children and grandchildren and special friends.
