Desiree Michelle Mathews, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was 37.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 on the day of the service.


Desiree was born on July 19, 1984 in Houston County and lived in Dothan most of her life. She attended Rehobeth High School. Desiree was employed at Wesley Manor. Later, she was employed with Shann’s Jewelry before becoming a CNA as a home health care provider. Desiree was an animal lover who especially loved cats and her puppy, Ki-Ki.


Desiree was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Inez White and Robbie Stinson; and her nephew, Daxton Stark.


Survivors include her father, Allen (Melanie) Stinson; her mother, Melinda Stinson; her grandmother, Alice Goodwin; her siblings, Justin White and Ashley (Matt) Keel; her step-sister, Ashley (Daniel) Stark; and three nieces and one nephew.
