Don Michael Jordan

In keeping with our dad’s wishes, the family will announce a private memorial at a later date. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 5-7 pm.

Don Michael Jordan passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65 years old. Don was born on August 30, 1957, at Fort Rucker, AL to the late Johnny H. and Ether Louise Jordan.

He is preceded in death by both his mother and father, his oldest brother, Mathis (Mike) T. Jordan and youngest brother, Anthony (Tony) Jordan, his loving grandparents, three nephews, Jeremy, Leon, and Ryan Jordan.

Don, known as Big Don in the logging world, worked for Strickland Timber Company where he operated a loader. He retired in 2021 after 35 years of service.

Don never met a stranger and was loved by everyone he met. He would help anyone in need.

Don was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. He truly enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with his brothers.

Don is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorian Jordan; their two children, Brandy Burkett (Phillip) and Kailyn Ward (Jonathan); two grandchildren, J.J. and Mason Burkett; two brothers, Kenny Jordan (Susan) and Rusty Jordan (Sharon); two nephews, Johnny Jordan and John Jordan; and a slew of very close friends.
