Donald Ray Beasley, a resident of Cowarts, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Westside Terrace following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Sorenson officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted.

Donald was born October 10, 1951, in Eufaula to the late Henry D. & Emmie Ruth Phillips Beasley. He spent the early years of his life there before moving to Louisville at 5. He was a 1969 graduate of Louisville High School, following high school, he attended Troy State and earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1973. Donald later attended Troy-Dothan and obtained his master’s degree in mathematics and education administration.

Donald was known by many as a teacher, coach, and administrator. His career in education spanned several decades, teaching students in Decatur, Georgia, Holmes County, Florida, and 30 years alone in Houston County. Many of his nights were also spent teaching classes at Wallace Community College. Donald was a faithful member of Cowarts Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, choir member, and longtime Sunday School teacher. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Brenda Jean (O’Saile) Beasley.

He is survived by his two sons, Brian Beasley of Headland, and Jeremy Beasley (Sandy) of Haleburg; 3 grandchildren, Haiden Beasley, Gracie Beasley, and Ty Beasley; one brother, Philip Beasley of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
