ABBEVILLE. . .Donald Wayne Hendley, Sr., a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday morning, February 26, 2022, in the Henry County & Rehabilitation Facility. He was 82.


The children will receive family and friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary. A private burial will be in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East.


Mr. Hendley was born in Georgetown, Georgia and was reared in the Wills Crossroads community of Henry County, son of the late Clyde Russell Hendley and Annie Owena Durden Hendley. He was a member of the Old Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Hendley was retired from Georgia Pacific after thirty years employment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Mims Hendley, a sister, Molly Alford, and two brothers, Bill Hendley and Joe Hendley.


Surviving relatives include a daughter, Wendy Hendley Miller (Charles), Montgomery; a son, Wayne Hendley, Headland; three sisters, Gloria Hicks, Sheila Whitehead (Jimmy) and Debbie Hendley Davis, and  a brother, Buddy Hendley, Dothan.
