Mrs. Doris J. Stripling of Daleville, AL passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the family residence.  She was 76.

 

            A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Chaplain Cliff Quincy and Pastor Paul Alexander officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home directing.

 

             Doris was born December 31, 1935 in Westville, FL to the late Daniel and Nancy Eldridge. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in August 1962 in Augusta, GA and spent the majority of her life as a military wife, traveling the world with her family. Before retiring, she worked at the 5 & 10 in Enterprise and Sneads Outlet in Level Plains.

 

              Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to family. Her ever-present kind words and courageous spirit will live on through those who knew her.

 

               Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles E, Stripling.

 

               She is survived by her daughter, Connie Windham (Charles), Wicksburg; two sons: Charles D. Stripling (Kim), Level Plains, and Robert Wayne Stripling (Marian), Daleville; five grandchildren: Jennifer Stripling, Nichole Windham Smith, David Stripling, Alan Windham and Daniel Stripling; two sisters: Bernice Tate (Charlie D.), Panama City, FL and Mary E. Phelps, Memphis TN; one brother, Dan D. Eldridge Jr., Prosperity, FL; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
