Dorothy Nell Adkins of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  She was 89.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise.  Burial will follow at Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.

Dorothy was born in Coffee County, Alabama on August 26, 1932 to the late Charlie and Gertrude Ennis.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, DeLeon Adkins; son, Ricky Adkins; granddaughter, Courtney Mitchell; four sisters; two brothers; and son-in-law, Jerry Register. 

Dorothy was a preacher’s wife and loved to serve within the church, even serving as the church secretary for some time.  She worked in a cotton mill for many years and was a wonderful cook.  She always had a smile and big hug to share with everyone. 

Survivors include her children, Charlotte Register of Elba, AL, Ennis Adkins (Rebecca) of Abbeville, AL, and Jane Mosley of Enterprise, AL; sixteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
