Doug Gamble of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 70.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2020 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Revs. Derek Snellgrove and Roy Turner officiating.  Burial will follow in Hardshell Primitive Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Gamble was a University of Alabama Alumni where he played basketball as a 6’10” center under Coach C. M. Newton from 1969-71.

Mr. Gamble was preceded in death by his father, Fred Douglas Gamble; niece, Amanda Brown; great-niece, Angel Seay; two great-nephews, David Micheal Peters and Jeremy Seay.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Gamble, New Brockton, AL; three daughters, Shanna Holland (Dallas), Tuscaloosa, AL, Emily Granger, Dothan, AL, Hannah Gamble, Dothan, AL; 7 grandchildren, Brianna Morgan, Warren Moon, Cade Holland, Evan Holland, Olivia Granger, Jude Gamble and Noah Gamble; two sisters, Beverly Gamble Pair (James), New Brockton, AL; Theresa Gamble Pair Stout (Clifford), New Brockton, AL; 4 nieces, Bereka Paez (William), Enterprise, AL, Alena Wilhite (Marc), Enterprise, AL, Tonja Elia (Paul), Daleville, AL, Sonja Peters (Daniel Barreto), Napier Field, AL; a nephew, Daniel Pair, Jr. (Erin), Headland, AL; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family gives a special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care.
