WEBB. . .Douglas Elva Clemons, a resident of Webb, Alabama, passed away late Friday night, August 12, 2022, at his home. He was 83.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Blake Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery in Webb. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 2220 Otis Buie Road, Webb, AL 36376 or to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Mr. Clemons was born and raised in Pansey, son of the late Walter Clemons and Ruby Jenkins Clemons. He lived in Houston County, between Webb and Ashford, most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Clemons was retired as an automobile, truck and heavy equipment mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Horn Clemons, and a son-in-law, Richard Rowlett.

            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Julie Rowlett, Tampa, FL; and Tammy Clemons, Webb; four sisters, Carol Beard (John), Bartow, FL; Mae Overstreet (William), Auburndale, FL; Tammy Barden, Winter Haven, FL; and Cindy Burkett, Birmingham; four brothers, Jerry Clemmons (Sue), Soddy Daisy, TN; Denny Burkett (Sue), Dothan; Ray Burkett, Webb; and Lester Burkett; two grandchildren, Reanna Waller (Nathan) and Alex Rowlett; a great-grandson, Richard Waller; numerous nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Tommy Ferguson, Roger Long, Brian Pepiton, Sammy Bagwell, Ray Odom and Russ Barden.
