Dr. Ruth Murray Byram, of Dothan, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 in her home. She was 73 years old.
Dr. Byram was born on April 17, 1948 in Washington DC. The family moved to Sunnyvale, California when she was young, then to Huntsville, Alabama as a teen where she met the love of her life, Ralph Edward Byram. Ruth and Ralph both attended Auburn University before living the army life for a number of years in Germany and Washington State. Eventually the young family moved to Birmingham, Alabama so Ruth could attend medical school at the University of Alabama Birmingham. After graduation Dr. Byram practiced Internal Medicine in Birmingham and Dothan. Ruth and Ralph loved to travel and had many rafting adventures.
Dr. Byram was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Virginia Murray and by her husband, Ralph Edward Byram.
. She is survived by her two sons, Charles Edward, his wife Melinda West Byram and Robert Graham Byram, his wife, Jamie Lynn Minton Byram; her granddaughter, Claire Frances Byram; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert Murray and JoAnn Trainer; and several nieces and nephews.
