Mr. Durwood Bludsworth, age 86, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at Gardens of Memory (Hwy. 431 N.) with Bob Negley officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.  The family will receive friends following services at the Graveside.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 234 Olaff Rd., Cowarts, Al. 36321 or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA, 22116-7023.

Mr. Bludsworth was born on January 15, 1937, in Barbour County, the son of Lewie Frank Bludsworth and Sarah Nadine Ketcham Bludsworth.  He lived in Dale County in his early years and later moved to Dothan.  Mr. Bludsworth retired as a truck driver after 25 years of service, he was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Cowarts and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Frank Gillian, Hellen Rhodes, John Bludsworth, Sarah Papainni, Buddy Bludsworth, and Harold Bludsworth.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Laura B. Bludsworth, Dothan; sister, Myra Davis, Dothan; 2 brothers, Joe Pat Bludsworth (Kim), Birmingham; Dennie Bludsworth (Tula), Ozark; several nieces and nephews.
