Earl Charles Golden, a resident of Dothan died Friday, February 24, 2012 in Niceville, FL. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P. M. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Ward Wilson Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff, Reverend Stacy Stafford and Mrs. Rhonda Grandstaff officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Frank Newton Sunday School Class of Southside Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 P. M. at the Funeral Home Chapel, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice of Niceville, FL or to Southside Baptist Church, Dothan, AL.
Earl was retired as traffic manager of Bay Line Railroad. He was a mason, a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Southeast Alabama Traffic Club.
Mr. Golden was born on December 5, 1926 in Geneva County, Alabama to Eura Box Golden and J. L. Golden.
He is survived by his wife, Jean K. Golden; One daughter and son- in- law, Kaye and Roger Barrett of Niceville, FL; Two Grandsons, David Barrett of Dallas, Texas and Mark Barrett of Niceville, FL; Brother and sister- in- law, Pete and Mary Ann Knight and sister- in- law Virginia Golden. Several nieces and nephews.
