Mr. E.C. Barnes of Samson, AL passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He was 95 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Samson First Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Barnes was born in Hacoda, AL on November 4, 1927 to the late Calvin and Ida Sasser Barnes. Mr. E.C. owned and operated Barnes Used Cars in Samson for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Royce Cassidy Barnes; two sisters, Wynell Carver, and Kay Hall; four brothers, Roland, Carlton, Troy, and Harold Barnes.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cynthia Barnes of Samson, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mike Grignot of Panama City Beach, FL; grandson, Drew Barnes and his wife, Brittany of Samson, AL; granddaughter, Tiffany Patel and her husband, Atish of Ft. Worth, TX; three great grandchildren, Ace Patel of Ft. Worth, TX, Slade Barnes of Samson, AL, and Braya Patel of Ft. Worth, TX; very special friends, Donnie and Ann Russell of Samson, AL;  and many nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to thank Samson Medical Clinic for their devoted love and care they provided throughout the years.
