          Edna Brown passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012, in Enterprise, AL.


 


          Funeral services will be 11a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob West, Rev. Stephen Webb, and Rev. Meghan Kelley officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 217 S Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330, or to a charity of choice.


 


          Mrs. Brown was born in Bond Special, Van Buren, AR.  She was the Valedictorian of her class at Van Buren High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Athens College.  After teaching math in Huntsville, she moved to Enterprise in 1980.  She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Social Chairman for the Edna Guice Sunday school class and past President of Circle II of the United Methodist Women.  She was also past President of the Chatauqua Club and coordinator of the Alabama Mothers’ Blankets for Abused and Neglected Children Program in Coffee County.  Until recently, she was a member of the Creative Stitchery group and enjoyed playing cards with her special card group. 


 


          She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brown.


 


          Survivors include two daughters, Becky Armstrong (Whit), Enterprise, AL,  Mary Lee Roberts, Moody, AL; three grandchildren, Whit Armstrong, Jr, (Lilly), Carolyn Marrs, (Donny), and Rebecca Roberts; five great grandchildren, Whit Armstrong, III, Charlotte Armstrong, James Armstrong, Maylee Marrs and Lysie Marrs.
