Edna Catherine Merritt Aplin, 71, a resident of Slocomb, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at her residence.


The family will have a private service at a later date. 


Edna was born September 25, 1950, in Westville, Florida to the late Lee Merritt and Rosie Dunn Meadows Merritt. She moved to the Slocomb area at an early age where she lived most of her life. Edna was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.


Mrs. Aplin is predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Pearl and Mary.


She is survived by her husband, Max Aplin of Malvern; three sons, Bobby Skelton of Dothan, Johnny Skelton of Eufaula, and DeWayne Aplin of Malvern; a daughter, Sandra Aplin of Dothan; grandchildren, Alexander Dunne, Alissa Dunne, Conner Dunne, and Gabby Skelton; three step-children, Bobby Max Aplin, Sharon Granberry, and Lisa Virag; a brother, Kenneth Merritt of Chipley, FL and two sisters, Betty Messick of Dothan and Sara   Ergle of Phil Campbell, AL.
